Plan threads no longer than 3 times the diameter of the hole

Adding deeper threads may increase the cost of CNC parts because a special tool may be required to perform the operation. Please note: Threads that are deeper than 1.5 times the diameter of the hole will fail to further strengthen the connection.

To minimise cost:

  1. Plan threads no longer than 3 times the diameter of the hole.
  2. It is recommended to add a non-threaded area at the bottom of blind holes to the extent of about 1/2 of the diameter.
